BitcoinProof PDF Report Disclaimer

Version 1.0 — Last updated 2026-07-29 — Published at bitcoinproof.io/disclaimer

This document is the canonical disclaimer text reproduced in every PDF report generated by BitcoinProof software. The Base Disclaimer appears in all three PDF report levels (Full Technical Report, Professional Report, and Cover Page). The Conditional Additions are concatenated to the base disclaimer when the relevant condition is true for the report being generated.

Base Disclaimer

The text below appears on every BitcoinProof report.

What this document is

This is software output generated locally on the user's machine by BitcoinProof, a desktop application. It is not the output of a regulated financial service, accounting service, audit service, valuation service, or licensed financial intermediary, and it has not been reviewed, certified, or signed by any such party.

What the reconstruction guarantees

The blockchain reconstruction in this report is deterministic and independently verifiable. The wallet descriptor checksums, block height, block hash, confirmation depth, and scan parameters recorded in this report are sufficient for any technically capable party to reproduce this result against the public Bitcoin blockchain using any standard block explorer, without relying on BitcoinProof. No trust in BitcoinProof is required to verify the holdings figures shown.

What the reconstruction depends on

The accuracy of this reconstruction depends on two inputs that BitcoinProof does not control: (i) the correctness and completeness of the wallet descriptors or extended public keys entered by the user, and (ii) the completeness of the blockchain data returned by the queried block explorer at the time of the scan. The block explorer used and the scan timestamp are recorded in this report. Neither the user inputs nor the block explorer data are verified by BitcoinProof.

Valuation

The BTC price, fiat currency, and price source shown in this report were entered manually by the user. BitcoinProof does not retrieve, calculate, or verify any price or fiat valuation. Recipients should obtain or verify market value independently using a source appropriate for their purpose.

Network activity

The reconstruction is performed locally. Wallet descriptors, extended public keys, unspent-output data, identity fields, and report contents are not transmitted to BitcoinProof or stored on any BitcoinProof server. In the course of operation, the application sends Bitcoin script hashes to the queried block explorer in order to retrieve on-chain data, and makes HTTPS requests to bitcoinproof.io for licence validation and version checking, in which the user's IP address is logged. Full detail is in the BitcoinProof privacy policy at bitcoinproof.io/privacy.

Scope

This report reconstructs transaction history and unspent outputs on the Bitcoin blockchain. It does not constitute financial advice, tax advice, accounting advice, legal advice, or a personal recommendation in any jurisdiction. In Australia, this report is not financial product advice within the meaning of section 766B of the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth), and BitcoinProof does not hold an Australian Financial Services Licence. This report is a transaction-history reconstruction, not an independent market-value valuation. Recipients with independent valuation or verification obligations — including SMSF auditors required by ATO guidance to obtain objective, supportable market-value evidence — must obtain such evidence by other means.

Liability

Use of BitcoinProof is governed by the BitcoinProof End User Licence Agreement and Terms of Service available at bitcoinproof.io/terms. Nothing in this disclaimer or those terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law, mandatory provisions of the Dutch Civil Code, Article 100(1) of the Swiss Code of Obligations, section 36 of the Norwegian Contracts Act, or equivalent mandatory consumer protections in Spain.

Conditional Additions

Each addition below appears only when the relevant condition is true for the report being generated. Multiple conditions can apply simultaneously; in that case all applicable additions are concatenated to the base disclaimer in the order shown.

(a) Unconfirmed transactions included

Unconfirmed transactions. At the user's election, this report includes transactions that were not yet confirmed at the snapshot block height. Such transactions can be reversed, replaced, or fail to confirm and are not settled holdings. Recipients should treat these figures accordingly.

(b) Partial report — subset of descriptors only

Partial report — subset reconstruction only. This report reconstructs only the wallet descriptors selected by the user. It does not represent the user's complete Bitcoin holdings on the snapshot date and must not be submitted as a complete declaration of holdings to any tax authority, auditor, or other recipient. A complete declaration requires the inclusion of all descriptors controlled by the entity.

(c) Identity details present

Identity details. Any legal name, address, identifier label, and identifier value shown in this report were entered by the user. BitcoinProof does not verify identity, residency, tax-identifier validity, or beneficial ownership. This document is not identity verification and must not be treated as such. Recipients with independent verification obligations — including SMSF auditors under section 128F of the Superannuation Industry (Supervision) Act 1993 (Cth) and APES 110 — must obtain ownership verification by other means.
